Well friends, Dispatches from the Swinging Door Saloon has come quite a long way...from a series of ramblings scribbled on cocktail napkins (and takeout menus and in the margins of my varied books of poetry), to polished and workshopped poems, and further along the journey into a manuscript, and further still into a book that I was proud to put my name on.
Then, over the ensuing months, ex post publisho, I’ve watched my little book slowly learn to stand on its own, then walk, breaking into the top one hundred on Amazon.com’s bestseller list, then jog its way into the top 50 and 25 and today it’s sprinting toward #1.
So first, I’d like to say thank you to all of you who have rallied behind this book. Without you, I would just be another stammering drunk sitting on a barstool. With you, I am a stammering drunk sitting on a barstool who has published a book of absurdisms. So, again, thank you!
